FRESNO - Former Fresno County District Attorney Edward Hunt passed away Sunday night at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fresno after suffering cardiac arrest early on the morning of April 13th. Ed waged a courageous fight, but it was something that he could not overcome.
His family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well-wishes and the many kind thoughts of Ed that were shared.
Ed served as Fresno County District Attorney for 20 years and was a dedicated servant to the people of Fresno County. He was an avid crime fighter and a staunch defender of victim’s rights. He was also looked at by the Madera County Board of Superviosrs to replace Madera County DA Ernie LiCalsi when LiCalsi was elected judge in 2008.
Current Fresno County District Attorney Elizabeth A. Egan said, "Ed was not only a close friend but also a mentor to me and many others. He will be sorely missed in our community. Our deepest sympathy is extended to his loving wife Linda and to the rest of his family."
