Geraldine (Geri) Elaine Eddy (90)

Geraldine (Geri) Elaine Eddy (90) was born on January 6, 1932 to John and Florence Russell in Madera, California. She entered Heaven’s gates on July 16, 2022.

She lived in Madera her entire life. At a young age, she met and married her husband Lester Eddy, and they were married 47 years before he passed away. She worked many years in retail at places such as Grant’s, JC Penney’s, and James’ Department Store, and at restaurants such as Sno-White, and Big Top Drive-In. She owned and operated Jet Pet Supplies before retiring after ten years.

Geri enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV and belonged to groups such as “Awawegos”, “We Go R Ways” and more. They also enjoyed many cruises together. She enjoyed crocheting and beadwork. She loved entertaining and hosting family and friends for cards and games.

Geri attended Madera First Christian Church for over 75 years, and she made sure her children attended Sunday school and church weekly. Her grandchildren knew she always had candy in her purse. She was a member of many social groups such as Eagles Auxiliary and Red Hatter’s Club. She served on the Election Board for many years.

Geri was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Eddy, her son Richard Eddy, and her two grandsons, Michael and Gary Schwenck. She is survived by her two sons, John Eddy of Madera, Ken (Doreen) Eddy of Coarsegold, and one daughter, Kathy (Dennis) Schwenck, of Madera. She is also survived by six grandchildren: David Eddy of Madera, Katie (Josh) Larose of Vermont, Eric (Rebecca) Grimm of Madera, Nicholas Eddy of Arizona, Melanie Schwenck of Madera, and Jeff (Mindy) Schwenck of Madera. Geri will also be missed by her eight great grandchildren: Mina, Faith, Bailey, Miley, Jaxon, Alex, Alexandria, and Lily.

Memorial services will be held at Madera First Christian Church, 2300 Sunset, on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 11:00 am.
