Elizabeth "Betty" Ochinero Fry

Elizabeth "Betty" Ochinero Fry (83) passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Fresno, California to Tony and Anna Marie Ochinero. Her strong Catholic faith was an inspiration to others.

Her eternal optimism and sense of humor was part of her life. She was truly a miracle lady. Betty was a world traveler and especially liked her many pilgrimages to the Holy Land and Medugorje. She was an avid tennis player and Bridge player and she loved the many friends she came to know while enjoying these activities.

A special thank you to Dr. Thomas Hackett, Dr. Rendoll Concepcion, and the staff at the Nazareth House for their loving care and concern during her illness.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Joseph and Frank Ochinero; her sister, Mamie Rossi and her husband Tony; sister, Grace Yovannides and her husband John; and her sister-in-law, Josephine Ochinero.

Betty is survived by her daughter, JoLaine Cornwell; daughter, Edee Manfredo and her husband Russ and their children Adam and Natalie; her son, C. Joseph Fry, III and his wife Gina and their children Jennifer, Gianna, Matthew and Caitlin; her brother, James Ochinero; her sister, Jane Ferdinandi and her husband Tom; her sister, Alvi Day and her husband Max; her sister, Rosalie Bonsignore Wampler; her sisters-in-law, Genevieve Ochinero and Marie Ochinero; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Sunday, February 11, 2007, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Sunday, February 11, 2007, at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Monday, February 12, 2007, at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nazareth House, 2121 N. First St., Fresno, CA 93703.
