Fresno County Sheriff's Detectives Make Arrest in 2018 Homicide Case

FRESNO - On Thursday, homicide detectives arrested 38 Anthony Yepez of Fresno. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on a charge of murder.  His bail is set at $1 million.

October 21st, 2018, a man looking for scrap metal inside a vacant home reported finding a dead body.  Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the house located on the 2600 block of S. Willow Ave. in Fresno.  The victim, later identified as 34-year-old Ka Vang Her of Fresno, had suffered a fatal wound to his head.  His death was determined to be questionable, and homicide detectives were called to the scene to begin an investigation.

Detectives conducted interviews and analyzed evidence, but were unable to determine who was responsible for Her’s death.

Recently here in 2025, detectives developed new information that Anthony Yepez was the suspect responsible for the murder.  An arrest warrant was secured and detectives with the Sheriff’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (ViCAT) searched for Yepez.  They located Yepez on Thursday near Ashlan and Blackstone and took him into custody.

Although an arrest has been made, additional information on this case can be reported to Detective Juan Galindo at (559) 600-8215.  You may also contact Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867 or www.valleycrimestoppers.org   You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.  Reference case #18-15651.
