Fresno Deputies Arrest Reedley Man for Shooting Two People

REEDLEY - Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested 52 year old Alfredo Ramirez of Reedley. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on two felony counts of assault with a firearm. His bail is set at $70,000.

Around 9:15 pm on July 4th, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home on the 5600 block of S. Crawford Ave. in Reedley for a report of two people being shot. Deputies arrived and found two men with gunshot wounds. One victim is 83 years old and the other is 56 years old.

They were transported to Community Regional Medical Center. Deputies spoke with witnesses and determined Alfredo Ramirez was responsible for the shootings. Ramirez lives in a trailer on the backside of the property. With the assistance of the California Highway Patrol’s helicopter, H40 and a sheriff’s K-9, deputies found Ramirez in his trailer and took him into custody.

The victims are currently listed in serious, but stable condition. Doctors expect both men to survive their injuries. The suspect and victims know each other. A motive for the shooting has not been determined. This remains an ongoing investigation.

Anyone with additional information on the suspect(s) in this case is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111, Detective Mark Chapman (559) 600-8209. You may also call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867 or online at valleycrimestoppers.org. You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
