Police Save the Bacon Nabbing Gang Members Burglarizing Fresno’s Frosty Queen

FRESNO - During the morning hours Wednesday Fresno Police Officers Robert Saenz and Drew Vanzant with the Downtown Policing Unit were proactively patrolling the Mural District when they were alerted by citizens of a crime near the Frosty Queen Restaurant located at Van Ness and Divisadero Avenues.

The citizens observed two male subjects burglarizing the business, which had not opened yet for the day. Officers Saenz and Vanzant quickly detained eighteen year old Domingo Silva on the property. They radioed to Downtown Policing Unit Officers Adriana Ponce and Mandeep Khela who quickly detained the second suspect, twenty five year old Danny Martinez, as he was leaving the area on foot.

A large bag of tools and cleaning supplies were located outside the business, that was found to have been removed from the business and identified by the property owners as being stolen.

Both Martinez and Silva, who are Fresno residents, were positively identified by the witnesses as the suspects who committed the burglary. The two were arrested for burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary and booked at the Fresno County Jail. Martinez had an additional felony assault warrant. Both Martinez and Silva are active East Side Fresno Bulldog Gang Members.

Due to the alert citizens in the community and the quick response of the Downtown Policing Unit, both suspects in this case were apprehended and the stolen property was returned to the business owner. Wadah “Alex” Alkadashee, owner of the restaurant, said he was grateful to the police officers for their quick response and his neighbors for looking out for his business.

In addition, the Fresno Police Department would also like to remind the public that Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information related to the suspect(s) involved in crimes. Anyone with information is urged to call crime stoppers at (559)-498-STOP (7869). Your information is kept confidential.
