Bulldogs Outlasted on the Court by Broncos, 70-64

FRESNO  – The Fresno State men's basketball team fell 70-64 in a hard-fought game against Boise State late Tuesday evening inside the Save Mart Center.  While Fresno State (12-6, 2-3 Mountain West) nearly rallied from a 13-point deficit just before halftime, Boise State (14-3, 4-1 MW) made the plays it needed to earn its third road win of the season.
 
The Bulldogs will next host New Mexico on Saturday at 4 p.m. PT.  Tickets are available starting at $15.


Fresno State Bulldogs Defeat Houston Cougars 33-27 to Capture 2017 Hawai'i Bowl

HONOLULU - Securing its 10th 10-win season in program history and picking up its first bowl win since 2007, the Fresno State Bulldogs defeated the Houston Cougars, 33-27 in the Hawai'i Bowl on Sunday evening at Aloha Stadium. "I can't say enough about this team and the coaching staff," said head coach Jeff Tedford. "To go from one win to 10 wins is a great accomplishment and these guys are such great kids, they've worked really hard and I'm so proud of the effort they gave all year. These guys deserve everything they're getting right now, because they did buy in and they worked really hard to get this done."

Only the second team in Football Bowl Subdivision history to go from a season with double-digit losses to a season with double-digit wins, the Bulldogs used a strong game offensively from junior quarterback Marcus McMaryion and the leg of senior kicker Jimmy Camacho.

Dusty Baker to Appear at Annual Fresno Grizzlies Hot Stove Event - Tickets On Sale Now

FRESNO -  The initial talent has been announced for the annual Fresno Grizzlies Hot Stove Gala and dinner, slated for Thursday, February 1, 2017 at the Fresno Convention Center, Exhibit Hall III at 700 “M” Street downtown.  Dusty Baker, a veteran of 19 Major League seasons as an outfielder and 22 more campaigns as one of the winningest managers in MLB history will be a keynote speaker.   The event will begin at 6 p.m. for the general public (doors at 5:30), and at 5 p.m. for those who have purchased VIP tickets.  VIP access includes a private mixer with the talent prior to the dinner and speeches.

Tickets for the event are now on sale by visiting FresnoGrizzlies.com or the ticket office at Chukchansi Park between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. during normal business hours.  Additional speakers and talent for the event will be announced in January.  

Harlem Globetrotters Announce 2018 Rookie Class

ATLANTA - As the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters look toward the 92nd season, and the start of the 2018 "Amazing Feats of Basketball" World Tour, five new stars will be making their debuts for the team when it tips-off tonight at Florida Gateway College in Lake City, Fla. The rookie class of Bulldog Mack, Hot Shot Swanson, Money Merriweather, Primetime Maberry, and Torch George, will become the latest stars to join the legacy of Globetrotters who have endeared themselves to millions worldwide.

"This is a terrific group of rookies who are going to add to what makes the Harlem Globetrotters so special," said Globetrotters legend, Sweet Lou Dunbar, the team's director of player personnel and head coach. "The Globetrotters have continuously thrilled and entertained crowds all over the world for over 91 years. As we get set for our 92nd season, this group is going to show why the 'Amazing Feats of Basketball' World Tour lives up to its name!"

Tedford Named Finalist for Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year Award

NEW YORK – Fresno State head football coach Jeff Tedford was announced one of eight finalists for the 2017 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award. The annual award is presented on behalf of the Football Writers Association of America, in conjunction with the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
 
The Mountain West Coach of the Year, who has led Fresno State to the nation's best win improvement (+8), is also a semifinalist for the 2017 George Munger College Coach of the Year Award, which is presented yearly by the Maxwell Football Club.
