MADERA - Madera residents Lupe Martinez Jr. and Dezarea Pack had their first “date” at the 2011 Madera Fair dancing the night away to Billy Currington. After seven years together, they will exchange vows at the 2018 Madera Fair Get Hitched wedding, Saturday, September 8^th at 5:00pm. 

On February 14^th, Madera District Fair kicked off a contest searching for a couple with Madera County ties to “get hitched” at the 2018 Fair.  The office received 12 applicants who were narrowed to 3 finalists and the finalists were then turned to the public via Facebook polling for selection of the winning couple. 

NEW YORK -  Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, is launching its first round of Prince catalog digital releases on  August 17. The first wave of Prince catalog titles to be released through an exclusive agreement struck in June between SME and The Prince Estate focuses on 1995-2010, a crucial epoch in Prince history.

23 highly-collectible Prince catalog titles (many of them hard-to-find or out-of-print) and Prince Anthology: 1995-2010 (a newly-curated anthology of 37 essential tracks from the era) are now available across all major streaming services and digital service providers. Many of these albums, long sought-after by fans and collectors, are available for the first time for streaming and download, adding more than 300 essential Prince songs to the artist's online in-print catalog.

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. -  Aretha Franklin's funeral today in Detroit is expected to be a star-studded tribute with politicians, dignitaries and celebrities from across the entertainment industry set to attend. Former President Bill Clinton, civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson and legendary Motown singer, songwriter and record producer Smokey Robinson will speak. Numerous musical tributes have also been planned for the service. Franklin died on Aug. 16, 2018, of pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer.
