BASS LAKE - It was a sad ending to the disappearance of a beloved member of the Bass Lake community, Robert 'Bob' Boyajian. Today, Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue delivered an extensive update on this case. The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 21-year-old Audrik Matevosian of Clovis.
Matevosian, a friend and sometimes employee of the victim, was arrested in connection with the tragic murder of the 75-year-old Boyajian, a respected Bass Lake resident and real estate professional. Detectives worked to identify and apprehend the suspect after receiving a welfare check request for Mr. Boyajian on July 14th.
The investigation revealed disturbing evidence of premeditation, including the online purchase of a body bag and a car rental. Matevosian was taken into custody Tuesday and ultimately confessed. He then led deputies to the victim’s burial site in the Mojave Desert in San Bernardino County.
The suspect is currently being held without bail on charges including first-degree murder with special circumstances and grand theft.
“Our detectives worked tirelessly to bring justice for Mr. Boyajian and his loved ones,” said Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue. “This arrest represents our commitment to protecting this community—no matter how far the investigation must go.”
