MADERA - This year, the fourth annual Whiskerino Contest will be held at the Madera District Fair, presented by Valley Children's Healthcare. This family-friendly event this year will be sponsored by Big Valley News and Radio and, for the first time, feature cash awards. The competition will kick off Thursday night, September 10th, on the fair’s Estrella Jalisco stage. Signups start at 5:45 p.m., and the competition begins at 6:15 p.m.
This event has no entry fee, and ribbons and prizes will be awarded to 1st-3rd in each class, with an overall ‘Best of Show ' for the event! The ‘Best of Show’ winner will be the BVN’s VIP guest at the C;ay Walker concert Saturday night with tickets to thr fair, VIP seats at the show and dinner beforehand at Perkos Cafe & Grill across the street.
Contestants will compete in the following categories.

All participants can enter classes within the categories provided on-site, pending participation from 3 or more participants to create a class. The competition is open to any guest with a paid fair admission.
The Madera Fair kicks off on Thursday, September 10th, and runs until Sunday, September 8th. Advance tickets and carnival wristbands are available on the fair website (www.MaderaFair.com) at reduced prices until September 10th. However, on Thursday night, all guests will receive free admission thanks to the fair’s sponsor, Valley Children’s Hospital Healthcare.
Hours of free entertainment are scheduled for both the Headliners and the 20/30 Stage, plus all the fair acts playing multiple times a night throughout the grounds. So do not miss it!
